Padworth Summer School Overview
With a strong academic focus, our two-week courses are designed to be highly dynamic and enjoyable, providing students from all over the world with the chance to delve into subjects they are passionate about. Whether it’s Global English, Explore STEM or Discover Business, our courses allow students to fully unlock their potential and lay the groundwork for future success by:
- stimulating intellectual curiosity.
- developing key skills.
- providing real-life opportunities to embed skills through academic trips.
- providing insights that enhance learning through guest speaker talks.
However, we firmly believe that education extends beyond the classroom, which is why our courses also offer an action-packed leisure programme that includes thrilling trips, sports, and a variety of activities to keep students engaged and enable them to discover new.
Structure
Padworth Summer School is structured to allow for flexibility in the course of study, students can choose to stay for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of five weeks:
Students must first choose one Academic Pathway:
- Global English
- Explore STEM: Engineering & Tech or The Sciences
- Discover Business (MBA-X)
The Academic Pathway courses involve 3 hours per morning, 5 days per week – i.e., 15 hours per week.
Next, students must choose one Elective Project from the following:
- Debating and Public Speaking
- Exploring English: UK Culture and Language
- Creative Writing
- Business Start-Up
- Build the Future
- Emerging Technologies
- Future Global Leaders
Elective Projects involve 1.5 hours in the afternoon, 4 days a week, plus an academic trip (4 hours) or guest speaker appearance – i.e., 8 hours per week.
Finally, students must select two Padworth Xperiences – one for each week:
- Week 1, 3 & 5: Outdoor Activities*, Tennis Skills, Golf*, Art, First Aid Training, Filmmaking and Swimming.
- Week 2 & 4: Horse Riding*, Football Skills, Cooking, Creative Pursuits, Basketball, Walking and Swimming.
